The snow won’t be coming in time, so we will hold dry land practice as posted below. But forecast is promising so it looks like we will be on snow 12/16!
Upcoming event: Julia Kern, EMBK 2006-2011, now on U.S. Ski Team, will lead a clinic for EMBK roller skiers at the Nov. 12 roller ski practice.

We successfully pinned down a location for the dryland practice/meet & greet with Noah Hoffman (US XC Ski Team) this Saturday, April 29th (9-10:30am). Thanks to the generous coordination efforts of John Adams at the Rivers School, we will hold the training at the Rivers School’s athletic field in Weston. Please see below for a map that shows the location for parking and activities. Please only park in the designated parking area, though you can drop your kids off closer to the field.
It looks like Saturday will have beautiful weather, so don’t miss this! There is plenty of room, so parents can participate too!
Also, please bring your own water bottles, as we will not supply water. We encourage you to label everything.
See you on Saturday!
Fitness and Fun with US Ski Team Member Noah Hoffman, Saturday morning April 29th
US Ski Team member Noah Hoffman will be leading EMBK in a morning of dryland training, games, conversation and autographs. Noah’s visits have become a favorite for many EMBK skiers. Save the date and join us if you can!
Ski selection with Zach Caldwell, Friday evening April 28th
Zach Caldwell is one of the most knowledgeable ski technicians in the United States and runs a small business hand-selecting race skis at the factory race rooms in Europe for skiers in the US. If you are interested in ordering hand-selected race skis, for parents or kids, you are welcome to join a group of CSU Masters skiers who will be meeting with Zach in Lincoln. Please sign-up by emailing Mark Doughty . EMBK can join in ordering skis at a discount, please note however, these are race skis and are still expensive. Unless you are interested in hand-picked skis, please shop with Chris Li at Bikeway Source in Bedford. We are very fortunate to have Chris as a local resource for all things skiing!
Nearly 140 skiers showed up on a beautiful Sunday morning, ready to race! Despite rain earlier in the week and several days straight of temperatures above freezing, there was more than enough snow for these enthusiastic youth skiers to show their stuff!
Thanks as always to the staff at our host facility, the Leo J. Martin Ski Track, managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, for providing excellent grooming under difficult circumstances.
Thanks to all the skiers, parents, and other volunteers who did so much to make this event a success! Without all of you, the EMBK Sprints wouldn’t run so well.
This year’s race is over, but we hope you’ll join us in 2018. The race is usually held the Sunday after Martin Luther King Day. EMBK welcomes skiers from other Bill Koch League clubs and encourages other eligible youth skiers (up to grade 8) to enter. The Leo J. Martin/Weston course is a public snow-making facility. As long as there’s cold weather, we have snow, regardless of conditions in the rest of the region.
