Club-wide roller skiing for returning skiers (October-November)
Roller skiing is a lot of fun and very similar to skiing on snow. The club will provide roller skis and poles. All returning skiers age 11 or older are invited to join this pre-season program every Sunday afternoon, starting the third week in October. This will be on the parking lot at Lincoln Sudbury High School and is suitable for all levels of skills, including roller-ski beginners. For questions please Contact Head Coach Jim Stock .
U14 Summer Program for Older Skiers
This program is for experienced EMBK skiers who will turn 12 or 13 years old by December 31 and who are interested in racing and/or year-round training activities. For these skiers, EMBK and Cambridge Sports Union (CSU), our follow-on club for serious junior Nordic skiers, have developed a very thoughtful program that incorporates age-appropriate activities from May until the early Fall.
Successful racing at junior ages and beyond is a year-round endeavor and the summer and fall months are optimal for expanding general fitness, strength and agility in preparation for winter practice and racing. Program activities include roller skiing, fitness and ski-specific strength training. Training sessions are held one to two days a week, from May/June to September, usually in Wayland.
Participants will be provided roller skis and poles to keep over the summer. CSU will charge a modest fee for U14 EMBK skiers participating in the program.
Please contact U14 Program Coordinator, Heiner Baumann, if you are interested or have questions.
